Iron Jawed Angels.
Award winning film about Suffragists. Co-sponsored with MU Womens' Center.
Iron Jawed Angels recounts the struggle of suffragists who fought for the passage of the 19th Amendment. Focusing on Alice Paul and Lucy Burns the film shows how these activists broke from the mainstream women's-rights movement and created a more radical wing, daring to push the boundaries of political protest to secure women's voting rights in 1920. They had no vote, no political clout, no equal rights. But what they lacked under the law they made up for with brains, determination and courage.
The League of Women Voters of Oxford and Miami University Women's Center are proud to co-sponsor a showing of Iron Jawed Angels at MacMillan Hall (Spring Street) on Tuesday March 11th at 7 pm. Admission is free.

Oxford Bus Feasibility.
On March 25th the League of Women Voters of Oxford will feature a presentation by members of the newly formed Oxford Bus Feasibility Work Group. Prue Dana, Mayor and member of the group will give a general progress presentation in the exploration of alternative transportation in the city to date. Other members of the group are invited to participate. Tim McGowan, the Director of the Knolls of Oxford, will be a panelist. Numbers of Knolls residents are no longer able to drive and some others no longer feel comfortable driving. However, they wish to stay connected to the community, and Tim seeks a way to help them do so. Input from citizens is very important to this work group, so please join us. Members of the public will have a chance to ask questions and give opinions. Please save the date, March 25th. The meeting will be held at the LCNB bank meeting room at 7:30 p.m.
